Fin tävling av Karlström – klar för VM

Under söndagen var det en 35 kilometers-tävling i gång och Eskilstunagångaren Perseus Karlström, gjorde sin första tävling för säsongen i Kalifornen.

Den 34-årige Eskilstunagångaren, har numera sin bas i Mexico. Något han berättade om för i en intervju med SVT Sport under december.

– Det har vuxit fram det senaste året och jag visste att jag behövde byta träningsgrupp till nästa OS-cykel. Det är bra träningsförutsättningar här och nu har jag fått till ett samarbete med bland andra två av deras absolut bästa gångare och vi är jättebra kompisar, sade Karlström till SVT.

I söndags var det bekant en 35-kilometerstävling i Kalifornien. Tiden blev 2:27:19, vilket innebär att han har kvalat sig in till VM i Tokyo i september.

En solid insats av Karlström innebar seger i tävlingen, dryga 10 minuter före mexikanen Ever Palma.

Friidrotts-VM i Japans huvudstad går av stapeln den 13 till 21 september.
